Production Tracking System

We design and build custom production tracking software so you can see what is produced, when and on which machine, and how long each machine runs or stands still, as it happens.

Data is collected from machines, PLCs or operator terminals on the shop floor, followed by shift, work order and line, and presented on management screens and in reports. The scope depends on your machine park and on how data can be obtained.

Project scope

  • Real-time production and line status monitoring
  • Recording of machine run, downtime and idle time, including downtime reason entry
  • Output counts, target vs. actual comparison and efficiency indicators
  • Reporting by shift, work order and product
  • OEE calculation (availability × performance × quality) and reports
  • Data exchange with existing ERP systems or databases (scope defined per project)

This page describes the scope of our software development and integration capability. It makes no claim about completed projects, customer results or an off-the-shelf product; scope, timeline and integrations are defined after a needs analysis.

Frequently asked questions

What is a production tracking system?

A production tracking system records output counts, machine states and downtime and shows them on screens and in reports. The goal is to see the real state of production on time without manual record keeping.

How are downtime reasons recorded?

A reason can be selected at the operator terminal or taken from machine signals; the list of reasons is defined by the company. Downtime data is also the basis of efficiency indicators such as OEE; OEE calculation and tracking is covered on a separate page.

How do you get data from our machines?

It depends on the interface a machine offers: reading from the PLC over protocols such as OPC UA or Modbus, sensors and an IoT gateway, or operator terminal entry. Feasibility is assessed machine by machine during discovery.

Do you sell a ready-made product?

This page describes a custom development service, not an off-the-shelf package. Scope, timeline and integrations are defined together after a needs analysis.
